Team Development
Because the teams that trust each other are the ones that deliver
Most team problems don't start with a bad strategy or the wrong structure. They start with trust — or the absence of it.
When people don't feel safe enough to be honest, to challenge, to admit they need help, performance quietly erodes. Communication becomes careful rather than candid. Conflict goes underground, and the gap between what the team could achieve and what it actually delivers gets wider.
We help organisations close that gap.
What this looks like in practice
We work with whole teams — not just the leader, not just the people who seem to be causing the problem, but everyone in the room. Because team dynamics are a system, and you can't change a system by only working on part of it.
Every engagement starts with listening. We take the time to understand what's really happening beneath the surface before we recommend anything. That might mean diagnostic conversations with the leader and team members individually. It might mean observing the team in action. It always means resisting the temptation to reach for a solution before we properly understand the problem.
From there, we design something that fits — a single workshop, a structured programme of development, or something in between. We draw on Lencioni's Five Behaviours® and other evidence-based frameworks, but we never deliver off-the-shelf. Your team is specific, what we build for you should be too.
Who is this for?
We work with teams across mid-sized and large organisations who are:
Experiencing conflict, broken trust, or communication that's quietly destroying performance
Going through significant change and need to reset their foundations
Performing well but ready to move from good to exceptional
Newly formed and want to build the right culture from the start
Dealing with the aftermath of a restructure, leadership change, or period of uncertainty
If you're a senior leader, HR Director, or HRBP who knows something needs to change but isn't quite sure where to start — that's exactly what the ignition conversation is for.
Our approach
We are direct. We will name the dynamic that everyone has noticed but nobody has said out loud. We do that with warmth and care, because our goal is always to bring people with us — not to leave anyone feeling exposed or blamed.
We work with the whole team. Individual coaching has its place, but team dynamics change when you work with the whole system. We create the conditions for honest conversation in the room, which is where the real shifts happen.
We are commercially grounded. We understand the pressures your leaders are navigating. Our work is designed to make a practical, measurable difference to how your team performs — not just to how they feel on the day.
We build for the long term. A workshop can shift something. A programme can change it. We design for lasting behaviour change, not a one-day event that's forgotten by the following Monday.
What we draw on
We are accredited practitioners in Lencioni's Five Behaviours® — one of the most robust and widely respected frameworks for building team cohesion. We also draw on Everything DiSC®, The Leadership Challenge, PROSCI change management methodology, Human-centred design thinking principles, and a range of facilitation approaches depending on what your team needs.
But the tools are always in service of the outcome, not the other way around.
“The work you did with our team last year was transformational. Tears* and laughter also included (*mostly from me)!”
Nicola Ramsey, CEO, Edinburgh University Press
